All in this thing together

This time, the virus is still raging, and the pandemic continues to wreak havoc on our lives. According to some experts, our normal lifestyles may still be a year away. Millions of people have been killed, and billions more are suffering. For our mutual security and safety, we are being prevented from visiting one another. This year, we won't be able to enjoy the typical Christmas cheer and merrymaking. This year's Christmas will be unlike any other. However, we should not get discouraged and enjoy the simplicity of the season.

In contrast to previous years, the Philippines celebrates Christmas differently. Similarly, in addition to a prohibition on social gatherings and church attendance restrictions, the economic impact of the coronavirus, as well as the impact of the country's subsequent natural disasters, has left many Filipinos unemployed, financially challenged, or impoverished. As a result, all of this, in one way or another, is the precise reason why Filipinos are unable to enjoy Christmas as they used to. The COVID-19 pandemic, in fact, has been a downer. As time goes by a lot of people are finding ways how to reconnect, celebrate and reflect, making use of technology.  People having diner through video calls, small family gatherings in the bon fire and on house porches.

Despite the pandemic, Christmas still entails giving, caring, and a renewed hope for a kinder and better future. Because of the pandemic, it still entails generosity and goodwill toward everyone, especially those who are less fortunate. In this time of epidemic, the best gift we can give ourselves is quality time with our loved ones while also looking after our own and our dear ones' health and well-being.
